October 21 Update Graphic

October 21, 2020

Good Afternoon Warren Students, Families and Staff,

A couple of important updates:

First, welcome back to our students and staff.

Now that we  have completed the first quarter of the 2020-2021 school year. We would now like to look back and determine what went well, as well as look ahead to the rest of the school year and identify areas of growth. As a valued partner, we would like your input on how Warren is doing with health and safety measures, communication, and family needs as we continue to navigate these challenging  times. Please take a few minutes to complete this survey via the link or QR code below. The survey window is open from October 19th through November 2nd.

Based on the current Coronavirus data and information we have, we will continue to provide an IN-PERSON model for K-5, a VIRTUAL model for K-12, and a HYBRID model for 6-12. To best prepare for the second semester at the high school, we are providing our high school families the opportunity to request either VIRTUAL or HYBRID for the second semester.  This window will open on Friday, October 23rd and will close on November 8th. A request form link will be provided through the high school and district website and social media platforms, directly to students through their email,  and through Mr. Shepler’s Sunday message. If you have questions about this process, please contact your child’s high school cohort counselor.

Beginning Monday, October 26th the Moorhead technology help desk will move to door 11 at the rear of the building located near the playground. Please drive through the gate on the west side of the building and, after parking, enter door 11 for assistance. The Technology team will keep the same hours for the help desk: Monday through Friday (except holidays) from 11am to 1pm.

As a parent and as an educator, this current climate of teaching learning has required a more hands on approach than I am used to. That being said, our kids need us more than ever right now checking in on them to see how they are doing as a person and as a student.

Thank you for your continued investment in MSD Warren students and schools.

Dr. Tim Hanson, Superintendent of Schools for MSD Warren Township
